Due to the idea of the DC multiverse, any live-action franchise could in theory crossover with any another. We’re seeing this recently in the massive CW Crisis event, which makes us wonder what other crossovers we’d like to see.
Although there are some really obvious examples of characters we want to see interact, there’s also a number of other crossovers that we surprisingly also really want to see. Here’s 10 that we hope can happen in the future of DC live-action.
THE FLASH AND THE FLASH
The two fastest men alive would make for an interesting crossover. The Flash from the CW is far more experienced, having fought off a number of villains. The personalities of the two Barry Allens are also quite different.
We don’t know what the DCEU version of the speedster would think about another Flash. Barry Allen of Earth One has met plenty of other Barrys before, so this wouldn’t be too much of a shock to him; although the difference in their costumes would be something they’d argue over.
BATWOMAN AND BATMAN
We’ve seen Batwoman interact with a version of Bruce Wayne but not the one we want to see. We want the Batwoman of Earth One to interact with the young Bruce Wayne that we’ve watched grow up in Gotham City.
It would be a completely new dynamic and would be an interesting one to watch, as the older Kate Kane would have to give the best advice possible for dealing with the criminal scum that rises up from the shadows of this dangerous city.
CONSTANTINE AND CONSTANTINE
John Constantine is absolutely familiar with alternate dimensions and changes in the mystical world. Coming across Constantine from the movies, played by Keanu Reeves, would probably create a different effect for him though.
We could imagine the crossover actually being quite hilarious, with Constantine from the Arrowverse, becoming jealous at how cool the movie version is; the two could compete with one another for the attention of the other heroes.
WONDER WOMAN AND SUPERGIRL
Wonder Woman and Supergirl actually carry the same message of hope and inner strength. A meeting of the two would, therefore, be quite inspirational and they would complement each other in both character and skill.
Watching these two powerful women fight crime alongside one another is exactly what crossovers are all about. Kara would probably geek out a little over Diana Prince, but Wonder Woman would be supportive and perhaps teach her a thing or two.
THE JOKER AND ROBIN
The version of Robin that we see on the TV shows is Jason Todd. Of course, Todd has a long history with the Joker, with the torture at the hands of the clown prince of crime turning him into the Red Hood; a vigilante with very few moral rules.
Putting this version of Jason Todd and an iteration of the Joker in the same room (perhaps the DCEU version as that would fit in well with this Robin) would create such an amazing scene. The two would certainly have a lot to discuss about their respective Earths.
DR MANHATTAN AND SUPERMAN
Dr Manhattan may just be one of the strongest characters in all of DC. That’s why it would be so interesting to put him up against a version of Superman from the movies or TV shows. We have to say that the new Kingdom Come Superman might be the best for the job.
He inspires hope where there is none and is a real forceful presence despite his charm. The version from the DCEU might be a better fighter but the interaction between the Manhattan from the TV show and Kingdom Come Superman would be electric.
GREEN LANTERN AND SHAZAM
Green Lantern and Shazam may not seem like the natural choice for a crossover on the face of it. However, with Ryan Reynolds in the role once more, perhaps mocking the character he once played, this could actually be one of the funniest team-ups.
Both characters could have a bit of a meta opinion about the superhero genre and may even think that the enemy they are fighting is ridiculous. It would be a strange combination but one we can see absolutely working.
SUICIDE SQUADS
The Suicide Squad of the Arrowverse was disbanded due to one appearing in the films. The TV shows then created a new Squad, albeit by a different name. The films are now changing their squad once more and making it even quirkier.
We’d love to see all these versions of the Suicide Squad crossover and create a massive squad. There would be infighting, rebellions and a lot of banter and it would be absolutely brilliant chaos. It sounds like it could have its own spin-off film.
BATMEN
Batman has been the connecting point of all of these universes. Nearly every film version of the DC universe will have a variation on the caped crusader. The Arrowverse, is no different as are the hundreds of Batman films.
We’d love to see one crossover event like no other, where all the actors who are still alive that have played Batman, come together to face a common threat. The Batman who laughs would be a great addition to this crossover, as the villain of the piece.
HARLEY QUINN AND CW TEAMS
Harley Quinn is an amazing character and one that would thrive in any environment she is put in. However, there’s no DC universe quite as strange as the Arrowverse and all the odd heroes and villains that have been created there.
Dropping Harley Quinn into the middle of it would be such a cool change. She’d be our point of view character as she tries to navigate giant sharks, a team of time-traveling rogues and a man that can stretch his body at ease. It’s truly a bizarre crossover of original and classic characters.
