Spider-Man may have helped the avengers defeat Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, but it turns out that he should have been a bit more worried about the disagreement between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment, since the whole ordeal resulted in him getting cut out of the wildly popular Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It all got started when Disney decided that they wanted a larger chunk of the money that this film series has been bringing in. Sony didn’t like that very much, and that is why the web-slinging superhero will no longer be a part of the MCU (unless the two giants come to a new deal).

Spider-Man has a lot of fans, and this has caused a great deal of outrage. Here are a few of the most hilarious reaction memes people have posted about this.

This Has Happened Before

The future of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man may be up in the air right now, but Tobey Maguire was the first one to experience this kind thing while playing that character. Maguire played Spider-Man in the trilogy that was directed by Sam Raimi, but the series was supposed to have more than three films in it.

But Sony pulled the plug on the fourth film, which probably had something to do with the feedback they got from fans after the third installment in the series was released. Despite the fact that the first two films in the series were massively successful, the third one was not liked that much, so instead of going any further with that series, they decided to start working on The Amazing Spider-Man.

Poor Uncle Ben

Spider-Man is definitely a character that has experienced a few dark times, one of which is when he lost his Uncle Ben, and some fans think they might have to witness that again if a new Spider-Man series begins.

Ben is a nice father figure to Peter Parker, which is part of why his death is so important, as well as sad. But at this point, that same storyline is getting a little old and tired. It’s been done numerous times before, so seeing Ben die again would simply be redundant at this point. But this idea has certainly resulted in some hilarious memes.

Spider-Man Might Not Need The MCU

Movie fans can get pretty creative, and many of them have thought of some hilarious ideas for what the title of the next Tom Holland Spider-Man movie should be. Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home both have the word “home” in them, so lots of fans seem to think that it only seems fitting to keep that theme going.

The feud between Sony and Disney has resulted in some really funny memes, but it also just goes to show how loyal Spider-Man’s fans are, since some of them would still be willing to watch a Spider-Man film even if it is not part of the MCU. Perhaps this could mean that the character still has a successful future on the big screen.

Andrew Was Fired

After The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was released, its’ lead star, Andrew Garfield, was let go. Apparently, he was not prepared for what his life would be like after being involved in such a huge movie series. “I was naïve to the whole process of making one of those big-budget films,” said Garfield.

There were a few reasons behind Sony’s decision to replace him with Tom Holland. When the third installment in the series was supposed to officially be announced, he was sick and unable to attend the event, and Sony executives were very unhappy about it. They were also unhappy with the amount of money that the previous film had brought in, so they cut him loose.

Tom’s Spider-Man Could Still Be Saved

Some fans are holding out hope that Disney might decide to buy Sony, which seems rather unlikely. But if they did, that would mean that Spider-Man could still be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which would certainly please lots of moviegoers everywhere.

This probably is not something that is going to happen, but it’s not entirely impossible. Disney is not always very predictable, so it seems that there is a slim chance this could happen. Just a few years ago, it was really difficult to even think about Disney purchasing 20th Century Fox, but they did it, so maybe this is not totally off of the table yet.

Spider-Man’s Life Hasn’t Been Easy

Despite his fun web-slinging adventures, Tom Holland’s version of Spider-Man has certainly been through a lot. First he lost his uncle, then he had to battle some pretty tough villains, and he lost Tony Stark, whom he had grown very close to.

As if that was not enough, now he might not ever see the rest of the superheroes he had become close to since Sony and Disney are not getting along at the moment. It seems that every time Peter Parker starts enjoying his life a little, something bad is waiting for him just around the corner, which is terrible since he spends so much of his time saving the world.

Both Companies Are At Fault

Some fans might agree that this entire thing could be settled if both of the companies just found a nice middle ground. In an ideal world, Sony and Disney would realize how much everyone loves Spider-Man (and Peter Parker), and they would work out some kind of deal that they were both happy with.

But unfortunately, their feud does not seem to be going in that direction, which could mean that it will be a long time before anyone gets to enjoy another Spider-Man movie again. Both Disney and Sony seem to be at fault right now, but fans can only hope that things will be different in the future.

Nobody Is Happy Right Now

When the news about Spider-Man leaving the MCU came out, lots of people discussed it on their social media accounts, and they made one thing abundantly clear: they were not happy. This news has been incredibly upsetting for lots of Marvel film fans, and they are definitely making sure their voices are heard.

While Peter Parker may have been a somewhat new addition to this movie universe, he was definitely essential to the overall story. If Stan Lee were still around, he would certainly have something to say about this. Stan once used his Twitter account to tell the world that he thought Tom was the perfect person for the part, which probably means that Stan would not be happy about what’s going on with Disney and Sony right now.

Tobey Got A Third Movie

While lots of people have been debating over who did a better job of playing Spider-Man, the fact remains that only one of them has had three solo movies, and that is Tobey Maguire. While he did not get the chance to play Peter Parker a fourth time (which is actually something lots of his fans want), he still got to play the character more than Andrew did, and the same will be true for Tom if Sony and Disney don’t change their minds. But even though Tobey got to be Spider-Man in three films, there are quite a few people who think Tom was much more fit for the role.

Marvel Can’t Finish A Spider-Man Series

Marvel is famous for a lot of great things, but their lack of ability to finish a Spider-Man film series is not one of their strong qualities. It seems that ever since the character was brought to the big screen, the actors who have played him have had a really hard time keeping their jobs.

Perhaps there is some kind of curse that accompanies this wall-crawling character. Even when things are going extremely well, it seems that something always has to come along to mess it all up.

The only actor who seems to have come out relatively unscathed after playing Spider-Man is Nicholas Hammond. Nicholas played him in a television series in the 1970s, which was also called The Amazing Spider-Man.
